Hey kiddies!
These three pages are from a manga project that I could potentially be working on for Tokyopop in the near future. A few weeks back, they approached me with an offer to illustrate a three volume manga series they've been trying to get off the ground for some time but couldn't find an artist for. Needless to say, I wasn't about to turn them down. Anyway, I won't delve into story details ATM as I'm not even sure if this sucker will get green lit by the powers that be, but I gotta say it's looking promising. Word on the street is that Tokyopop's head honcho himself has taken serious interest in the project, but wanted some rewrites made to make the story more mainstream. What do I mean by more mainstream? Well, let's just say that as it is now, it would probably only appeal to a very niche audience (and I don't mean surfers). More on that if the project gets green lit though (the official pitch should happen early August). Surf's up and all that, yo! |
